Stockport Ramblers are associated
to the national Ramblers Association and are affiliated to the Manchester Group.

The aims of the Stockport Group
are to encourage local people to walk in the countryside and to enjoy themselves
whilst doing so.
Stockport Group started in 1991
and now has over 700 members. This makes it the largest group in the
Manchester area. Some of those members who inaugurated Stockport Ramblers are
still serving on the committee, which is very much appreciated, as we can draw
on their experience.
Non Ramblers Association members
are warmly invited to join us for 2 or 3 walks after which, should you wish to
continue to walk with us, you will be required to become a member of the R.A.
Please note that preference will be given to
RA members on other events.
Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear, and remember
to bring a packed lunch or refreshments. Walkers who are not correctly
attired, could be requested not to participate in the walk, should the walk
leader believe that the safety of the person or the walking group could be
compromised.
Please
note that this year's AGM is on 17th November at 8pm at the Heaton Mersey
Conservative Club on Didsbury Road. Please come along and show your support for
the group. The meeting will be followed by a talk from a representative of the
Peak and Northern Footpaths Society.
Smoking
Policy Stockport
Ramblers welcomes all walkers. However, members and non-members are
requested not to smoke on walks or at social events. This is to protect
the right of everyone to breathe clean air.
